Paint It Black — The Rolling Stones

A late-1960s London high street is still alive with autumn colour as a solitary man walks towards a distant funeral procession. Behind him, however, the street has begun to lose its colour: shopfronts, pedestrians and pavement drain into charcoal and black, while the darkness creeps across the foreground like ink soaking through a printed page. At the flower shop, red roses are caught mid-transformation, shifting through oxblood into black as the change reaches them.
