Chasing Pavements — Adele

Rain turns an empty city pavement into a field of reflections as a solitary woman disappears into the distance. In the foreground, the song’s title is set into the stone beneath her feet, while a quiet ‘19’ marks the wall beside the path.

This SongScape interpretation of Chasing Pavements captures the moment between persistence and surrender: continuing forward without knowing whether the road can lead anywhere. The shallow focus leaves the figure almost beyond reach, while wet ironwork, fallen leaves and amber streetlight give the scene the intimacy of a late-night memory. A cinematic tribute to uncertainty, heartbreak and the difficult question of when to stop chasing what may already be gone.
